It begins with the cockroaches
Courtney, a lonely young reporter, is given the assignment to investigate the legend of a figure known as the Pesticide Man.
There are sightings of insects acting bizarrely around the world, and these sightings are often followed by the witnessing of a strange figure in a hazmat suit. Some call this figure the Pesticide Man, and Courtney is given the assignment to ‘investigate the legend’ of this strange entity.
So she finds herself at a half-demolished building in the middle of the night, and the first thing she sees are:
Cockroaches.
There are a lot of them, and they are acting in ways that cockroaches shouldn’t.
The Pesticide Man
Courtney soon finds that this colony of cockroaches is just the start of her journey.
She will find that the creepy-crawlies of the world all take their turn acting in ways that they shouldn’t, from worms to ladybugs, from ants to mosquitoes.
And when Courtney figures out what might be causing these disturbances, that’s when her troubles begin.
Because what she observes, observes her in return, and seems determined to erase her from this existence.
It ends with a spider
Though Courtney is outmatched by this unimaginable predator in every single way possible, she’ll find a way to survive.
She’ll take a cue from the spider, which finds itself in a world that is bigger, stronger and faster than it at every moment, and yet
Spiders find a way to survive amongst this hostile existence. In fact
Spiders are everywhere.
