For 16 years she chronicled the insanities of contemporary life in her syndicated column for the Chicago Sun-Times. Markey's first novel, "The Daddy Clock, published in 1998 by Bantam Books, received glowing reviews in The New York Times, London Express and Denver Post. Immediately optioned by Touchstone Pictures, the book has been translated into five languages. Last summer her second novel, "Just Trust Me," was released by Mira Books. Markey's first two books collections of her syndicated columns were "How To Survive Your High School Reunion and Other Mid-Life Crises" and "You Only Get Married For The First Time Once."
