Best-known as the author of the children's classic "Anne of Green Gables", Lucy Maud Montgomery's professional and private lives became increasingly complex during the 1920s. In this third selection from her journals, she describes how she managed to juggle the demands of motherhood and her husband's parish, numerous personal crises and a bitter lawsuit with her unscrupulous publisher, and still found time to write. It is a portrait of a sensitive and surprisingly contemporary author, yet the journal also reveals a very different side to the decade commonly known as the Jazz Age.
