A Marnie Walker Thriller
Marnie Walker has a successful and growing business, a home in idyllic surroundings and a boat on the Grand Union Canal, sharing all these with Ralph her lover and Anne her closest friend.
Life does not get much better than hers, until one day a stranger arrives on the scene, a fugitive with a shameful past, hounded by the media, accused of hypocrisy and depravity.
Is this a case of the power of the media and those who abuse it? Or is the stranger as guilty as everyone believes? If so, why does Marnie feel drawn to help him?
Keeping barely a step ahead of their pursuers, they try desperately to fight back, from rural Northamptonshire to London's Docklands and Little Venice. The situation becomes more desperate and heart-breaking at every turn as the strain takes its toll. How can anyone stand up to the power of the press? It seems a hopeless cause, but Marnie is not one to back down from a challenge.
In the midst of this conflict other hazards emerge...
A violent mugger is on the loose in their community. Marnie's ex-husband comes back into her life. The complications pile up, and no one can escape the tragic consequences that threaten to blow Marnie's world apart.
And nothing is quite what it seems ...
Kiss and Tell
The story is intricate, the writing well-crafted, the characters lifelike and compelling. It maintains suspense from beginning to end and raises questions about the power of the media ... and those who abuse it.
