Luna McNamara recommends
The Witch of Colchis (2024)
Rosie Hewlett
"Hewlett brings the story of Medea alive with poetry and verve, pointing out that our image of this monstrous woman was created by monstrous circumstances. Full of thwarted love and dark magic, this tale renders Medea sympathetic without ever sanitizing or sugarcoating her. Vivid and powerful, this is a book with teeth."
Lucy Undying (2024)
(Dracula , book 1)
Kiersten White
"Smart, sizzling, and sensuous, this descent into the long years of Lucy's unlife breathes new life into the Dracula mythos. Lucy Undying beautifully depicts the transformative power of love and the many forms that monsters take."
