As I took my first step toward the top of the stage, the roar of the crowd hit me square in the chest. The crowd was booming, absolutely thunderous, waiting for the show of their lives.
I lifted my leg to take the next step and prepared to take my mark on stage, but… it all faded.

My bandmates hyping each other up.
Our crew hollering back and forth about last-minute production hiccups.
It all melted together as I fell onto the stage.
That’s the last thing I remember.
Darkness. Nothing else.
I woke up a week later and was told I had to face my demons or they were cutting me from the band. That pretty much made my decision for me.
When I rolled up in front of the treatment center in the label's SUV the last thing I thought I'd find was a woman who could heal this broken shell of a human and light up my darkness with her smile.
The problem? She's an ice-queen and hates me.
Can I find a way to change her mind? Even if I could, would she take a chance and risk it all on me?
