Margaret Manchester

Margaret Manchester lives in the north of England, with her husband and two sons. She was born in Weardale and spent her childhood there.

Researching her family history sparked Margaret's interest in local history, and she worked at a mining museum while studying local history and archaeology at the University of Durham. After completing a Masters degree, she taught archaeology, local history and genealogy.

As well as writing, Margaret works in the family business, she is the chair for a charity that supports industrial heritage, and she enjoys spending time in her garden and with her dogs.
