This second book in Moore's "Most Unsuitable" series is the tale of Adrian Fitzwalter, also known as the scandalous "Dark Duke," who goes against all conventional wisdom when he falls for spinster Hester Pimblett, his stepmother's plain companion. Society rejects him for not meeting its standard of behavior, just as it rejects her for not meeting its standard of beauty. The three-dimensional villain of this piece, Adrian's selfish, immoral brother, has been granted his own sequel, The Rogue's Return, due out in summer 1997. Although set in Victorian England, The Dark Duke is written more in the Regency style and is suitable for readers wanting romances without explicit sex.
Genre: Historical Romance
