Burnt to ash and cast back to a fiery Hell for his sins, Lucifer commits one last act of vengeance on God and His creations, releasing a virus on humanity comprised of his own Dark particles. Though it does not affect Nephilim, it is virulent and lethal to humans.

Dark antibodies can provide a cure, but the only beings with those antibodies are the denizens of Hell. Even the Nephilim, who have genetic immunity, don’t have enough to save mankind. Nor can God officially sanction a raid on Hell to get them without breaking a ten thousand year old treaty and starting another divine war. The only angel who might be able to get into Hell, and convince a contingent of Fallen angels to trade their antibodies for a chance at divine forgiveness, is former Ambassador to Hell and Demon Lord, Maxiel, who’d thought he would never see Hell, the human world or the Caretaker, Sahara again.

Sahara, thinking the same, started a life with Dr. Alex Malcolm, doctor in charge of combating the demon virus. Now is not a good time for the Demon Lord she once loved to return. Or Lucifer. But both do. When Max goes to Hell as God’s secret emissary, Sahara becomes his point of contact. In no time, she finds herself knee deep in political intrigue and temptation, surrounded by personal risk, and stalked by Lucifer, who having remade himself, is trying to exert his influence again.
There was a time when she would never have been tempted to risk her soul, but when Doc Alex contracts the virus, and only unholy intervention might protect him, what might she give up to save his life?
