Jill Fernley loved her work at St. Joseph's Hospital, but hated the intrigues and friction of community life. There was Dr. Duncan McRey, a most difficult person, and almost as bad was her staff nurse, Brenda Malling. Brenda, she knew, was jealous of her success, but why had Dr. McRey have to be so unfriendly to nurses when he was so gentle with children? This was a question which came to concern Jill and more before at last she found the answer.
