Trent and Megan

Explanation from Trent—My mom surprised me with a computer that she won on an online auction. Turns out the files from the computer’s previous owner were recoverable … and I recovered them. And what I read—whoa. Holy smokes! It rocked my world. It was a girl’s journal. A girl that lived in Australia for all I knew … at first. Not going to lie, I was kind of falling in love with the mystery girl, but I figured I would never meet her. Only as I read about the girl’s life I slowly began to realize not only was I falling for the girl … but I KNEW the girl. Well, sort of. Her name was Megan, and she went to my school. Only she’s what my cynical ex-girlfriend calls, “Miss Goodness and Light.” Not exactly my type. Usually. But now that I knew her innermost thoughts—man, I could NOT get Miss Goodness and Light out of my head. Or my heart. Only, HER heart still belonged to her cheating ex-boyfriend. So, I had to come up with a way to make her give me a chance … without her actually knowing she was GIVING me a chance. (‘Cause I wasn’t exactly HER type either.) (I’m kind of known as a “player.”) So, I made Miss Goodness and Light a deal—the Dating Deal—I’d help her get her boyfriend jealous and let him see what a desirable, awesome girl he was losing. But the thing was, I already knew what an awesome, desirable girl he was losing … and I wanted him to lose her. Bad.
Suddenly, this dirt-wad player (me) wasn’t playing around. For once in my life I was serious about a girl.… Only the girl “seriously” didn’t want anything to do with me. Well, anyway, she was TRYING that—to not want me. But hey, good luck with that.

Note: this book also contains two short stories about Matt & Nicole, and Ally & Griffin in middle school. If you are not following that series the two stories are short and can easily be ignored (or enjoyed).
