The Shadow Kind

This supernatural horror thriller, set in 1929, evokes H.P. Lovecraft's eerie, haunted New England. A Harvard psychiatrist - a World War I veteran and recovered morphine addict - is confronted by the mystery of a traumatized teenage girl. A bizarre outburst from her starts him on a search for missing children. This leads to a remote, secretive village, where he finds the sinister worship of "guardian spirits" - and a sultry love affair with his alluring, enigmatic hostess. At the same time, his Harvard colleague delves into the occult underworld of Boston, resulting in a terrifying and sexually charged brush with black magic. Both men are left forever scarred by evil as they uncover the link between vanished children and the hidden existence of the Khibri - powerful demons in human form, dedicated to causing mankind's misery on an epic scale.
