Eagles of September

(2015)
A novel by

1936
Pilot Officer Bryan Catrell of the RAF, and Paul Ritter, cadet in Germany's outlawed Luftwaffe, have each come to Berlin, not for the summer Olympics, but to witness the public debut of Germany's new fighter aircraft.
Bryan is sure that the British Spitfire is the fastest, nimblest, best fighter in the world, but when the stark, brutal shape of the ME 109 makes its pass over the assembled people of all nations, it is clear that Spitfire isn't the only eagle in the sky.
Eagles of September follows the separate paths of the two fighter pilots from their first meeting in Berlin, through the Spanish Civil War and the Blitzkrieg, to their final showdown in the English skies in the Battle of Britain.
