You can’t look into evil without becoming evil yourself. Power corrupts. All power. Centuries ago, the Church destroyed the Black Coven, erasing it from the Commonwealth and forging a better world.
Now, the disease of greed has crept back into the Empire, seeping into every fabric of society. The rich shackle the poor, forcing the less fortunate to work in indentured slavery. The Church supports the Crown, turning a blind eye to the masses of humanity starving in the streets. Women are a subspecies according to the government. They can't vote, own land, or govern their own bodies… unless they join the Legion.
The Legion of Wizards deals with problems too dangerous for normal soldiers to handle. In order to gain magic, wizards give up their humanity, becoming orcs, demons, and other supernatural races. They become what they fight… And, what the Church fears.
My name is Bruin. I’m an Orc Wizard, new to my craft. I’ve been given a charter to stamp out the darkness by the Crown Prince himself. In order to accomplish my goal, I'm going to recruit women from the dregs of humanity and forge them into a team.
Together we are going to hunt down the monsters who plan to overturn civilization and plunge the Empire into chaos, or die trying.
