A DAD has become a best-selling writer after creating a detective in honour of his tragic son.
Sinclair Macleod wrote his thriller The Reluctant Detective to help him get over the death of 12-year-old Calum from bacterial meningitis.
Yesterday, Glaswegian Sinclair was celebrating as his book reached No29 on Amazons Kindle thriller chart beating authors such as James Patterson and Martina Cole.
He revealed how his main character, Craig Campbell, was based on Calum, whose organs saved the lives of five people after his death.
Speaking from his home in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, Sinclair said: Im very pleased to even be sharing a list with such established authors, never mind coming above them.
