Following Highland Dream, this lively time travel romance takes a virile Highlander from 1605, zaps him into the present, and pairs him with physicist Chelsea Brown, a woman whose intelligence is off the charts but who is socially insecure and totally clueless when it comes to men. The chemistry between them is instantaneous; and although the pair spends much of the book agonizing over the fact that they can never be together, this doesn't slow the action, which sweeps its characters from the 17th century to present-day Scotland and Texas, then to the 19th century and back again. Although the Wild West segment is a bit much, the appealing, complementary protagonists and the appearance of several characters from the prequel will definitely please series fans. Especially interesting is the hero's problem when it comes to women; although the solution is a bit too precious, readers will be very glad to see the situation resolved.
