More than seven decades after the end of World War II, the hunt for fascist war criminals is itself drawing to a close, making it possible to look back on a crusade that has required remarkable perseverance and ingenuity from its worldwide agents, but which has sometimes courted controversy. Here Andrew Nagorski introduces the Polish judge Jan Sehn, who handled the case of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Hoss; Mossad agent RafiEitan, head of the Israeli team that nabbed Adolf Eichmann; and Eli Rosenbaum, who continues to seek fascists living in the United States.
