The El Dorado Incident

(2023)
(The eighth book in the Eutychus Bly: U.S. Marshal Western series)
A novel by

As a wheat farmer himself, Eutychus Bly knew how hard it was to make a living at working the ground and waiting patiently for a harvest. Wind, drought or a rainy spell could totally devastate a farmer’s crop. But that wasn’t all. Sometimes, things happened that were completely unexplainable.

That was the case in Eldorado, Kansas. New settlers were pouring into eastern Kansas to buy cheap land and start a new life. Many of them were farmers. However, when a plague of Rocky Mountain locusts totally ravages their crops, a crisis of epic proportions emerges. And as always, there are those waiting nearby to take advantage. Greedy men, like buzzards over a carcass, pounce on the opportunity to buy up the land notes of these poor settlers.

Eutychus Bly is tasked with going to Eldorado to help these settlers retain their land. When he arrives, he can barely believe the devastation left behind by the plague of locusts.

He sickened by the devastation, but what upsets him most is the profiteers.

The range detective is on his way, and he’s bringing a fiery justice with him.
