A brand new collaboration between Casey Nash and Ash Lingam resulting in an action-packed Western novel filled with twists, turns and a lot of traditional Western reading!

High in the treacherous Rocky Mountains, Levi Beaver Johnson was recovering from a broken leg. The urgency of their situation was not lost on Captain Will Forrester. They had to get their furs to the market soon, or they risked losing out on top dollar. With this in mind, Forrester set out alone on his trusty quarter horse, Chestnut, followed by three mules laden with hides and pelts. Their perilous journey took them down Beartooth Mountain, across Yellowstone Valley, and over to Landen, Wyoming via Crandel Creek.

When he arrived at the Rockies Hotel, he was confronted by an army patrol. The major detained him for desertion, a crime that occurred forty years prior, and put him on a train for their home base, El Paso, Texas—a suspiciously long way from their realm of authority.

Levi finds out and knows he must rescue his best friend from a military court martial and a possible noose. He has never been to Texas and finds himself out of his league, so he contacts his friends Marshal Jubal Stone and Texas Ranger Sal Sanchez. The year prior, they had been on the frontiersmen’s mountain, and when they needed assistance, the captain and Johnson offered willingly. Now, the tables have been turned, and it is Johnson who needs help and hopes his friends are willing to return the favor.
