Han Nolan is a young adult writer from Alabama. She has successfully published seven young adult novels. Since her early childhood she has been fascinated with stories. Even as a little girl she would spin yarns for her friends. She did not always want to be a writer. For many years she focused her energies on becoming a dancer. After trying to maintain her sanity on a dancer's schedule for years, she went back to her first identity, that of a storyteller. Many of her novels feature a main character struggling to make it in an adult world. She was awarded the National Book Award in 1997 for her novel, Dancing on the Edge.
