A lone traveler headed north doesn't ask many questions, but he follows the trail of two men he hears about. One is Ace Perkins, who has committed atrocities with a woman, and the other is Stook Wilson, a stock detective. Out in the lone country between the Cheyenne River and the Niobrara, the traveler meets up with Perkins and Wilson in a cabin. The traveler, who calls himself Tom Bell, knows that there is a reward out for Perkins, and Wilson is a hired killer. Before all the smoke clears, the traveler tells Wilson his real name.
