At a low point in their lives, after three years running a village shop, Sheila and John moved back to Kent with their family to a temporary refuge, a redundant chapel in a daisy-starred paddock. The older children were spreading their wings, so this part of the family story is more about the two youngest, Kate and Matt, and "what Sheila did next..." She became happily involved in village life, wrote pantomimes, while the chapel became a real home.
