A Lynher Mill Novel.
Cornwall, 1643: Along the Cornish coast piracy is reaching new heights, and a long-running alliance, born of greed, is growing ever deadlier with a new hand at the helm.
Beneath the moor a king prepares to pass his kingdom to his daughter, while his son looks on in envy and bitterness... and with grim determination.
Alongside these secret upheavals, a mortal war is raging: king against government; Catholic against Protestant; brother against brother. Lessons are being learned from it, but are they the right ones?
From the author's foreword:
This novel is set in an earlier era than the main series of books: the English Civil War period. The language has necessarily been updated to suit the modern 'ear,' although the intention in the crafting of this book has been to retain the essence of the time, and of the region.
Readers of The Penhaligon Saga will recognise characters, incidents and places described here, but while I hope this book enhances the enjoyment of those, and vice versa, knowledge of that series is not necessary in reading The Unquiet Dawn.
Genre: Fantasy
