A super-secret government program called Project Eve is ready to open its Destination arm and needs its first recruits. Destination only accepts women who have the "Eve" gene, and only some women of African descent possess it. Aliens from a distant galaxy have signed an agreement with humans, making Project Eve also tasked with pairing an alien with one of its recruits. Humans will be sent to another planet to be hosted. Living with an alien on a foreign planet will have its challenges.
Meet Peyton Horner, a down-on-her-luck earthling who gets paired with a snarky but sexy alien from the planet Tasium.
Idrac of Tasium works on the asteroid Holis, trying to provide for his family. But he's also trying to track down the mother of his son and sees a marriage contract with Project Eve: Destination as a way to find her.
Then he meets Peyton. She's furry, equally snarky, and sexy. And Idrac finds her hard to resist.
