A chance meeting. A dark past. A dangerous present.

Poppy lived her life through a lens. She saw people living without indulging in living herself. It was the way of the very rich to be cut off from those around them. Poppy connected through her camera.

Braxton Grimes spent the last five years locked away for a crime he didn’t commit. Freed with a pardon, there are still few employers who would take a chance on a convict. Working in the illustrious gardens, he put food on the table and kept himself out of the path of those who wronged him.

A slip of the camera and Poppy found herself eye-to-eye with Braxton. Their whirlwind romance puts her in danger when Braxton's old gang discovers he’s with the socialite. They want her to hurt him, and the things he must do to keep her safe put her in harm's way, anyway.

His harm.

Poppy hadn’t meant to fall in love with Braxton, but she had. Darkness and all. Now the game of cat and mouse to keep her safe takes them down a hole they’ll have to embrace the darkness to survive.
