Editorial Review

The final book in The Company series picks up three months after The Company of Lies. Cady and Ethan are working well together, carving a future for themselves between hunting demons and dodging familial obligations. The only problem is, Ethan's suppressed memories aren't ready to stay suppressed any longer. Once he recovers them, Cady has to decide if her loyalty is to Ethan or the Company. To complicate things, Ash and a pack of other demons are on the loose, wreaking havoc in the Pacific Northwest. With Ethan unstable, Rikard's ready to step in and fill his shoes - but can Cady trust the dangerously sexy Fixer when he's got more than binding demons on his mind?

We learn more about Ethan's heartbreaking past in this one, and the circumstances that led him to be the man he is today. I really loved the deepening of Rikard's character too. The chance to see what he's like when he's not on the job or trying to get into Cady's pants (though he does still try quite a bit), especially when he keeps surprising her at every turn.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - my favorite part of this series (apart from the sexy man-candy) is Cady's gumption. She is not afraid to fight for what she believes in and those she loves. I loved seeing her master some of her own abilities, risking everything to get the job done and save her loved ones, even when all hope seems lost. I'm sad to see the end of this series, but Lisa Olsen serves up the final chapter covered in awesomesauce with itty bitty awesome sprinkles.
