Hear Me When the Sun Goes Down
(2014)(The sixth book in the Forged Bloodlines series)
A novel by Lisa Olsen
From Bestselling Paranormal Romance Author Lisa Olsen - Book 6 of the Forged Bloodlines Series
"I'd made my bed, now I had to lie in it and hope Jakob didn't climb in beside me."
Anja is saved from torture and death only to find a new kind of imprisonment at Jakob's side. Thanks to his stifling restrictions, Anja feels more like she's under house arrest than ever, unable to so much as share an honest conversation with Rob, let alone act on what her heart wants. Desperate to assert her control and avoid Jakob's oppressive influence, Anja returns to the West as war erupts, forcing the Order underground and under her protection. Determined to win her love back, Bishop leaves everything behind to be by her side, making it difficult for Anja to choose who to let into her heart. But there's a reason for Jakob's obsession with Anja's safety, an old enemy that frightens even the powerful Ellri himself. It's never been a more dangerous time for those Anja loves.
Editorial Review
The sixth book in the Forged Bloodlines series, Hear Me When the Sun Goes Down finds us smack dab in the middle of political upheaval as Jakob steps forward to claim Anja. But what exactly is he claiming? Jakob may have saved the day but he is definitely not the hero of this piece, creating far more problems for Anja as he takes his rightful place in vampire society. With her domineering Sire in the picture, it forces Anja to keep her feelings for Rob buried deep inside even as Bishop decides to man up and fight for the woman he loves. As if that wasn't enough to deal with, things are falling apart in the West as violence forces the Order to seek Anja's Sanctuary.
Some favorite moments for me -
We get to meet more of Rob's family, always a fun interaction there.
It was great to see Bishop finally do some growing up and own up to his mistakes with Anja.
I loved seeing the way the men in her life approached her birthday gifts from different angles.
I was glad to see Jakob's crazily possessive behavior explained, and a little scared at the prospect of them going up against something scary enough to give Jakob the sweats.
Loved seeing Anja resort to making a pros and cons list between Bishop and Rob, especially Bishop's column who I'd sigh over any day. But I'm a sucker for star crossed lovers and I'm really hoping she can find a way to ditch Jakob and be with Rob once and for all.
Speaking of which - dream sharing with Rob - enough said.
The ending had me paging through faster and faster, hoping against hope it wouldn't end badly and I'm thankful Ms. Olsen didn't leave us with too many questions as to who survived.
