'So, the last thing you remember about the night is?'
'The last thing I remember is eating dinner. I had a little wine, but not much. Then, there are flashes of memory, maybe, stumbling in the hallway, Dan carrying me into one of the guest rooms. I don't know what time that was.'
'And then?'
'Then, I woke up in the middle of the night. It was dark and so cold. I was disoriented and not sure where I was. I called out for Dan, and I got really upset.'
'Do you think you were drunk?'
'Sue, I just told you, I barely had any wine at dinner. I couldn't have been drunk. I didn't drink more than two glasses.'
'So, what was going on with you?'
Claire looks at her, incredulously. At times like this, it is difficult to believe that Sue is on her side. It feels like she doesn't believe her.
'He did something to me. Isn't it obvious? He gave me something and it made me black out. It wasn't the first time, either.'
While grieving the loss of her husband, young mother Moira decides to sell her business and move to London to build the life she had always dreamt of. There, she meets beautiful Claire Maxwell, whose husband has recently gone missing, and finds herself getting caught up in the strange and magnetic world that Claire seems to create around her. Is Moira's new friend as twisted and dangerous as the community is making out, or is she just misunderstood and lonely?
Genre: Cozy Mystery
