Travis “Reader” Baylor joined The Devil’s House MC for the brotherhood and the fact I had no family and nowhere to go after being released from Juvenile Detention. Club member Silver found me struggling and homeless sponsoring me to the club. I have demons I keep hidden deep, never allowing them to surface. But then along came Tildie, broken and battered, and in her, I saw me; we were the same. We both learned to cope in the same way growing up, and from the first time I held Tildie, comforted her, and cared for her, I knew we could heal each other. I know the reasons for Tildie’s nightmares, and for Tildie, I will let my demon rise long enough to end her fear and rid her of the monster who wants her back.
Tildie
Matilda “Tildie” Westcott wants nothing more than to be free of the nightmare that is her life. I was born deaf, so I have suffered the trauma I have endured in silence. Finally, after years of abuse at the hands of my brother’s MC Club, I am safe, rescued by The Devil’s House MC. But, though my physical wounds are healing, my mental demons have me struggling with silent screams every time I close my eyes. But, through it all, he is there, Reader, always by my side, his soft brown eyes shining with understanding and his arms comforting. But, I have to be careful not to confuse his kindness with love because I am dirty and broken, and no decent man will ever want me. And the monster of my nightmares is hunting me, and this time I will die before I let him have me.
This book can be read as a stand-alone, but for a better understanding of club members and elements, reading
