Carmen Posadas has consistently topped the bestseller charts in Latin America, Spain, and in other European countries like France, Germany, Italy. Born in Uruguay and raised in Europe, the daughter of a diplomat, she attended British boarding school where she devoured the English masters from Daphne du Maurier to Roald Dahl. As a novelist she developed a penchant for mysteries with a highly original narrative voice, a perfect blend of the slightly absurdist sense of the uncanny with a mastery of character and plotting she attributes to her favorite Anglo-American authors from Henry James to P D James. Critics have hailed her fiction as the perfect blend of Agatha Christie and Almodóvar.
