The man I was died when my ship sank in the Caribbean in 1580. Something otherworldly scooped me up and took me away from Earth forever, and now I live on an interstellar pirate ship. I suppose there are worse ways to start your afterlife.
But the thing that’s always nagged at me is how I escaped, and who came out of the depths to rescue me. Given that I’ve spent the past two hundred years held captive, whoever doomed me to a fate worse than death owes me a debt.
A debt I plan on collecting.
