Matthew Langley wasn't lookin' for trouble when he rode into the untamed wilderness of the Mexican province called Texas. All the young man from Illinois wanted was to settle down on a spread he could call his own and make his mark on the land. But trouble found him on the trail down from Nacogdoches when a squad of Mexian troopers under the command of Colonel Juan Bradburn bushwacked young Matthew and relieved him of his land grant at the point of a gun.
Texas was a hard land and it took hard men to mold it. They were a tough and prideful breed who were known as Texas-Mexicans but chose to call themselves Texians--men who lived under the constant shadow of the gun in a land where death could await and not be seen or heard. For Matthew Langley, the first lesson Texas taught was a simle choice: fight or die. And that meant joinin' up with his fellow settlers in the Brazoria Militia to strike back against Bradburns despotic forces. Emotions were runnin' high, but Matthew knew that when hot lead sizzled the air, a man who kept a bridle on his feelin's was the man who'd shoot the truest!
Genre: Western
