Buried Treasure

Jessica Wakefield and her closed friend Ellen Riteman have struck gold! They have discovered an old, metal box buried in Ellen's backyard. Along with love letters and photographs, it contains two hundred dollars. The girls decide to keep their discovery a secret and head for the Sweet Valley Mall to spend some of their new-found fortune. Their timeing couldn't be worse! At just about the same time, the money for the sixth grade class trip to Disneyland has disappeared from the teachers' lounge. And that's exactly when Jessica and Ellen show up at school with all their new things. If they tell the truth now, they'll get in trouble for keeping the secret, but if they don't say where they got the money, they'll be accused of stealing. How will Jessica and Ellen be able to prove their innocence.
