James Polkinghorn

I am a semi-retired lawyer living in Key West with my wife, Becki, and our dog, Major Tom. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, where I spent my first 14 years. My family moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where I graduated from Plantation High School. I then attended the University of Florida for both my undergraduate and law degrees. I went to work in Miami, where I spent many years litigating and trying cases throughout Florida. I then moved to Fort Lauderdale, joining a national labor and employment firm where I headed the litigation practice. I developed a national litigation and trial practice and carried on for many more years before deciding to throttle back and take up full-time residency in Key West. That's when I decided to scratch the author itch I had been feeling for a long time.
