Michael Pool was born and raised in Tyler, Texas and educated on the Western Slope of Colorado, where he lived for nearly 20 years. He has worked as a private investigator, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, bellhop, used car salesman (the worst ever), content marketing copywriter, and in other more nefarious positions better left unnamed. His other books include the crime noir novella Debt Crusher, and a collection of crime short stories, New Alleys for Nothing Men. Texas Two-Step is his first full-length novel, and will be followed up by a second novel, Rose City, in 2019. His short stories have appeared in numerous magazines, journals, and anthologies. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Stephanie, stepsons Keaton and Tucker, and ferocious little lions London and Walter-Kitty.
