Bubbles

Bubbles Stabler was a great woman, a mover and shaker in the early eighties. But she dies in media silence, leaving her husband Vincent to mourn their life together in the company of ghosts both past and present - a cherished son, an unloved lover, and the head henchman of a Blackheath mob. Bubbles' public persona hides a story more complicate than Vincent is prepared to admit. As he retraces their steps from crime to politics and back to crime, he is forced to confront his own role in their demise - above all the fate of his brother, a mob lieutenant who turned his back on violence, only to find himself running towards gunfire.
