Welcome to Morrissey County! This fictional region in Pennsylvania Amish country is home to several generations of strong-willed Amish women who know what they want in life, even if others disagree. Join these women on their search for love and acceptance.

Unlike most of the residents of Morrissey County, Dorothy Gingerich was not born there. When a terrible accident left her an orphan, she was adopted by a childless Amish couple. Now, at eighteen, she has just returned from Rumspringa, has gotten a job as the assistant librarian, and must decide if she will be baptized into the Amish community.

Fredrick Martin is the son of the local carpenter. He, like Dorothy, is an avid reader and visits the library whenever he has a free moment. He has been raised by a strict father who does not believe in stories but in practical pursuits. As such, the library is an escape for him and is the place where he befriends Dorothy.

When Dorothy is given the chance of a lifetime to write for a publication in the city, she must decide if she will stay in Morrissey. Torn by the love she has for her adoptive mother, a possible future with Frederick, and her desire to return to a life with the Englisch, Dorothy must make an impossible decision and choose the path that is right for her.

Dorothy is a stand-alone Christmas romance in the Amish of Morrissey County series. You do not have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one!
