Since its founding in 1975, The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito has rescued and treated over 12,000 seals, sea lions, sea otters, dolphins, and other marine mammals. An effort that began with locals rescuing animals from nearby beaches has grown into the largest marine mammal facility in the world, combining rehabilitation with an on-site research lab.
