When thieves make off with a stash of cash from Wendy’s new favorite restaurant, the owner turns to Wendy for help. Jonah Garrison knows of her reputation as a successful amateur investigator and he’s offering cold, hard cash for the return of his life’s savings.

With her dog walking business not quite paying the bills, Wendy jumps at the chance to earn a little cash and help try to keep Jonah in business. As she digs into the case, she soon learns that there are quite a few people on Sweetwater Island with the means and the motive to steal the money. A disgruntled ex-employee, the manager of a rival restaurant, and a mysterious newcomer to the island all come under the microscope. All of them have reasons to bring Jonah’s restaurant down.
