Actually, she buys the bar. The Dusty Cactus Saloon in the small town of Sundance, California.

So, when Chandra's ex-girlfriend shows up begging the ex-assassin to find her runaway niece, she's not in the least inclined to help.

But when it becomes evident that the teenager is in true danger, Chandra swallows her anger and sets out to track the kid down, finding herself embroiled in a mystery involving a wolf pack, a bartender, and an obnoxious ogre that makes Chandra feel stabby.

Expired is an urban fantasy novel with a hint of romance from Chandra's point of view. It falls behind Sabotaged and before Shattered in the Sundance series. You don't have to have read the other books to understand this one, but it's helpful.
