A CHILLING ONE-OFF IN THE ANDERSON & COSTELLO SERIES, TOLD FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE ENIGMATIC ELVIE.

Elvie McCulloch’s sister Sophie has been missing for 57 days. She went out for a run — and never came home.

Then Elvie is driving home one night. The naked, emaciated body of a young woman crashes from high above onto an oncoming car.

Elvie recognizes her as Lorna Lennox, who’s also been missing for weeks. But how did she fall from so high? Where had she been all this time? And why was she running for her life?

Elvie teams up with retired — and disgraced — detective Billy Hopkins. The duo work with Anderson and Costello to find out what happened to Sophie and the other missing girls.

But they’re up against a terrifying enemy: The Night Hunter. And time is running out for Sophie.

CARO RAMSAY’S ELECTRIFYING THRILLER THAT SHOWS ANDERSON & COSTELLO FROM A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE.

Fans of Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Denise Mina, Matt Brolly, Carol Wyer, Joy Ellis, Stuart MacBride, Angela Marsons, Helen H. Durrant, JD Kirk, DS Butler and LJ Ross will love this series.

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE NIGHT HUNTER:

“Caro Ramsay has taken the intriguing step of showing us the police through the eyes of someone else, and it works, bringing a fresh slant to her series . . . Elvie is undoubtedly the star of a clever, well-constructed and decidedly gripping story.” crimereview.co.uk

“Ramsay’s insights into tortured psyches makes for compelling, if often painful, reading.” Publisher’s Weekly

“This book is definitely one chiller of a thriller.” Judy

“The change in perspective makes for an interesting twist in the series.” Anetq

“The plot is truly chilling, especially as the author ramps up the tension and the pace towards a gripping ending to this mystery.” Cleopatra

Really enjoyed this exciting thriller. I like Caro Ramsay’s books and love the characters of Anderson & Costello. This was one was a bit different as although they featured, they were on the sidelines, however this does not detract from the story.” Ruth

THE DETECTIVES
DI Colin Anderson: A well-qualified graduate with true Scottish grit. He’s calm, efficient and focused — despite his marriage falling apart, and the fact that he’s just a tiny bit in love with the boss’s wife.

DS Winifred “Freddie” Costello: Pithy, sometimes crabbit (as they say in Glasgow), Costello is incredibly capable, but not above pushing boundaries when needed. She’s a well-respected officer who always puts police work first. She’s had a crush on DCI McAlpine for many years now, but that doesn’t stop her getting the job done.

THE SETTING
Drizzly, grey Glasgow and its seedy backstreets along with up-and-coming new estates is the setting for this gritty series. The realities of poverty and crime are laid bare — with the underfunded police department trying to keep the damn from breaking.
