Jacob and Penny are riding west across Wyoming Territory with no particular destination in mind. They’ve just collected a sizeable bounty for capturing a gang of outlaws, so there’s no pressure to go after more. The first night they camp after leaving Cheyenne, a young Arapaho girl sneaks into their camp and they catch her trying to steal food. They learn that the girl, Little Sun, had been kidnapped by a band of men and held captive along with five other girls.
When Jacob and Penny learn from Little Sun what the men have planned for the captive girls, they decide to rescue them, even if there is no bounty to collect.
