A brand new adventure from Charles Ray!

People are being killed in the little central Texas town of Killeen, and the sheriff’s at a loss to find the killer. So, he calls on the Texas Rangers for help. J.D. Pettit, assigned to the ranger station in Garland, is assigned to the case. Happy for a change not to be sent to East Texas, J.D. heads south to Killeen. Traveling with him on the train is Melinda Jenkins, on the way to become the director of Killeen’s school. She and J.D. hit it off right away and once they arrive find that they work well together at the task of identifying a murderer who has left eight bodies scattered around the town. They work together too well, though, and find themselves on the killer’s list of potential victims.

Can they catch him before he kills again?
