Rusty is on the tail of a bank robber when the man ambushes him and leaves him for dead. He survives, but is left unarmed and on foot. His injuries have caused a loss of memory, but he knows somehow that he needs to follow the trail leading from where he woke up. For a while, he has to fight the desert which can kill the unwary and unprepared. Vague memories float through his mind, including the knowledge he needs to survive. As time passes, more memories emerge and he becomes determined to find whoever ambushed him and discover his own identity.
