Rhoda Kerby had more on her mind than her routine duties when she took up the position of nursing sister at the Castle Hall Clinic. She had a more secretive task to perform, as certain allegations had been made against Dr Ingram Lang and these had to be investigated by Rhoda. The previous nurse appointed to the job had mysteriously disappeared from Castle Hall a year previously and had never been found.
