Iphigenia Barlowe has pursued Special US Marshall Seth Forster across the mountains and deserts of the West. Now, he learns that she's been shot and left lying by the side of a road. When Deadwood Dick tells him of this, they ride together on a deadly search for the lowlife scum who shot an innocent woman.
From poison gas, to Indian Lighthorse troops, to strange and deadly foreigners, the trail leads them through the Oklahoma Indian territories and into terrible danger.
Finally, they are back where they started and Seth, wounded by a Black Mamba and finding out that Jeannie Barlowe has passed on, charges into the guns of the whole gang.
