A Bounty For Life

Having stolen Colonel Hannums' gold in, Seth Forster returns to Ragged Spring Texas as Quinn Rudyard Capper, a rich dude from Richmond with a thirst for war. When he learns that Hannums is preparing to use the infamous cannon, Whistling Dick, to kill President Grant at a speech in Vicksburg; Seth, Iphigenia Barlowe (his unwanted pursuer) and Battle Elfridge (the rightful sheriff of Ragged Spring) know they have to stop the Southern Stratagem. After a series of adventures (including Seth having to shoot Elfridge, Jeannie confronting the evil Doc Gladden, and Seth's gunfight against a dozen outlaws) they arrive in Vicksburg where, in a massive battle against an anti-black Red Shirt mob, Seth is trapped with Grant inside the iron-bound Vicksburg City Hall as Whistling Dick batters down the iron shutters and doors. Aided by Nat Love (Deadwood Dick) And Billy The Kid, can Seth and Jeannie hold off the mob until President Grant can be saved or will the Civil War be fought again?
