She dropped down through darkness. After awhile reality broke through and she heard a hoarse whisper. She tried to turn and couldn't. Her wrists were still bound. Sooner or later she would have to open her eyes. Sooner or later she would have to face dreadful reality - that she was alone with a murderer who had already killed twice and had good reason to kill her, too. Because she had been a witness to one of his crimes.
