I enjoyed reading The Persian Boy and found book 3 really exciting even though I didn't think I would be interested in what happens after Alexander's death. I found the 1st book dry and hard to read. I don't think it's very clearly written and could not get into it. Tip: make a note of all the characters mentioned as there's an awful lot of them and it's easy to mix them up and misremember who did what. I will keep this book as reference and I would be prepared to re-read book 1 in a little while.
