Probation Officer Ann Carlisle is coping with her husband's unsolved disappearance, and her young son's consequent problems, the best way she knows - launching a one-woman war on crime.But when an apparently random shooting leads to a grisly discovery in a probationer's abandoned drug lab, Ann soon realises that both she and her son are in deadly danger. Could the intruder who so brutally attacks her, the source of the sinister phone messages, be her missing husband? Or is someone trying to frighten her out of testifying about her discovery.
